Application and Registration

The Summer School Reasoning Web 2006 is primarily intended for young researchers from industry, PhD students, or postdoc researchers investigating the Semantic Web and related issues. The Summer School will also be open to some senior researchers wishing to learn about Semantic Web issues related to their own fields of research.

The number of participants is limited. Participation depends on prior application and a reviewing process.

Application

In order to apply for participation in the Summer School, please submit the following information through the Application Form:

Applications are possible from 1 February 2006 until 30 April 2006. After that date the applications will be reviewed. All applicants will be notified of the results by 7 June 2006. The answer to accepted applicants includes the details on how to register.

Registration

The details on how to register are included in the answer to accepted applicants. Registration is possible from 7 June 2006 until 7 July 2006.

The Summer School registration fee is 400 Euro and covers teaching, shuttle bus transportation, lunches, coffee breaks, and a volume of the proceedings.

Social events are not included in the registration fee. They can be booked at registration time.

Registration and all payments will be handled by a single party, Agência Abreu.

These arrangements (or other accommodation) can be booked through Agência Abreu together with registration. They are valid until 21 July 2006. After that date accommodation is not guaranteed to be available.

Accommodation costs are not included in the registration fee.

Grants

A small number of grants is available to reimburse part of the cost of PhD students and active scientists whose participation furthers the Semantic Web research and who would otherwise be unable to afford participating.

A grant covers registration and accommodation (5 nights, shared room) plus reimbursement of documented travel expenses up to 200 Euro.

Applicants to the Summer School who also apply for a grant are requested, in addition to filling in the application form, to airmail a paper letter signed by their institution confirming that the institution cannot contribute to the cost of the applicant's participation in the Summer School.
